DESCRIPTION:
APW - Waltham, Cronómetro Victoria, very rare lever-set Model 1888, 15J, 16S, gold-filled original HC with attractive engraving detail, fancy white enamel SS impressed dial with gold and silver foil decorations, red glass insets at 5-minute positions, SW-LS, nickel damascene, s#7413821. An interesting piece for the Waltham collectors; factory made lever-set Model 1888 movements are very rare and we have only encountered a small handful of examples. The present example has its setting lever at the 5:30 position, and notably the movement does not have a detent screw for securing its stem as is found among virtually all Model 1888 production.
